Just an update to let you know that we are anticipating a fun filled weekend of rock painting!  Hope that you can join us!

I've printed out lots of photos of frogs for resources to paint by! 

We will be leaving Golden Friday Morning (June 9th) to go to Jasper Arkansas to 'pick rocks' for a couple of hours and then to the Jasper Ozark Café for a light lunch and then back to Golden to start painting our rock finds!  We do encourage everyone attending to pack some finger snacks to nibble on and some water or soda to enjoy while we are painting.  We will begin again Saturday morning to paint to our heart's content and enjoy burgers and dogs for lunch provided by the Dees!  Hope to see you then!

When preparing to attend a Rock Party at Dees Dream-

1) Send $10 fee for each rock painter to Dees Dream, 22325 W Mockingbird
Drive, Golden, Missouri 65658.
2) Send $5 fee for those who plan to come on Saturday, but not paint.
3) Bring paints and brushes well marked. I usually end up with some one's
favorite brush. Don't worry if you do not have paints or brushes. We have
extra.
4) Bring snacks (finger foods) and soft drinks or water to nibble on, sip, and
share. We will have lunch provided for Saturday lunch.
5) If you have painted rocks, bring them to show and tell. If you don't have the
rocks anymore, bring your photos to show.
6) If you cannot find us, call us. (417) 271-4281. We will have signs up in the
Eagle Rock/Golden area....sometimes even as far as Seligman, Missouri.
8) There are maps on the 2006 Rock Party Web site.

Rock Pickin' Tips (for when we go on Friday morning of the Rock Party)

1) Wear comfortable Shoes for walking on rocks.
2) Bring water, energy snacks, etc. to stay well hydrated. (It could be hot)
3) Bring a small bucket or basket to tote your rocks.
4) Bring a chair so you can take a break if needed.
5) We will only spend about 1 1/2 to 2 hours pickin' rocks.
6) Bring a camera if you want to get some pictures of the awesome landscape.

2017 Rock Party

Hello!  It's time to be thinking about joining together to hunt for rocks and paint rocks again!  Yay!  The dates are June 9 - 10, 2017, same place, same times! 

We will meet at Dees' Dream, Golden, Missouri around 7 am and meet Lin Wellford in Green Forest, Arkansas, probably at the square like we did last year!  We will follow Lin in a caravan to Jasper, Arkansas to one of her favorite 'rock pickin' places to gather rocks!  After about 2 hours of picking rocks, we will gather at Jasper's Ozark Café for a light lunch, each painter choosing their own meal and it will be Dutch treat!  When we have finished with our lunch, we will follow Lin and T.Joe and me back to Dees' Dream and begin painting and visiting!

We do ask that each person bring finger snacks to share and bottled water and/or juice or soda to enjoy while we are painting.  On Saturday, T.Joe (Thomas Joseph Dees) and I will provide grilled burgers and dogs for lunch.

We ask that each Rock Painter donate $10 each for the event which will help with lunch on Saturday as well as paints and brushes to be used both days. 

If you click on the labels on this site, you can find places to stay in this area if you want to be here overnight.  We will have breakfast EARLY but if you want to participate, please bring something to contribute for that. 

We will meet Friday morning here at 7 am and we will begin Saturday morning around 8 am.  Breakfast will be much earlier so we will be ready to visit and paint.

Rock Painting Get Together 2016

Hello Rock Painting World!  We are anticipating another great Rock Painting Party in June 2016!  Our theme this year will be Rockin' Flower Power!  June 10 - 11, 2016!  Amazing that this will be our 17th year to hold our Dees' Dream Rock Painters Get Together! 

We will once again have T.Joe's Welding Shop as our Studio and with added space in his new concrete floor lean-to that we added this past fall. We still have plenty of tables and will borrow chairs from our Emerald Beach Club House, unless we happen to accumulate enough chairs of our own between now and then!

We are experiencing snow on the ground, which is melting very slowly but hopefully, all this will be behind us and we will have a nice spring with lots of flowers to enjoy as well as nice warm weather too.

We are looking forward to visiting with our rock painting friends again, painting more rocks, and meeting new rock painters as well!  We already have a few newbies interested!

2015 Rock Painting Party

Hello from Golden Missouri, where we will be joined next weekend for another Rock Painter's Get Together at Dees' Dream!  How exciting to have our 16th year of Getting Together with Rock Painting Friends and Family!

T.Joe and I are busy trying to get Dees' Dream ready....cutting grass, trimming weeds, cleaning the 'shop'/studio to make room for tables and chairs for Rock Painting, and sharing information to all we come in contact with about our 16th Annual Rock Party!

For those who can come, you can bring your paints and brushes, and painted rocks to show and tell, and/or photos of your painted rocks. But, we will have plenty of brushes and paints for you to use if that is a problem bringing yours. 

We want to make a special photo of all our rock painters and supporters to send to DecoArt as a thank you for DecoArt furnishing special Patio Paint for us to use this year.

2015 Rock Painting Party Golden Missouri at Dees' Dream, Table Rock Lake

It's been almost a year since I posted on this blog and now it is time to prepare for another fun Rock Party Get Together. Our dates will be June 12 - 13, 2015 with the same agenda as our previous 15 years! Yes, this will be the 16th year - Sweet 16! Our theme this year will be Rock a Bye Baby!.

When we go Rock Picking on Friday morning, we will be in search of the perfect rocks to paint our 'babies'! For those who cannot go rock picking, we will try to find as many perfect baby rocks so everyone will have a chance to make their baby rocks!

For our agenda for our two day get together, please refer to labels listed as we will follow the same agenda as previous years. There is a generalized map to give you an idea of how to get to Dees' Dream and our mailing address is 22325 W Mockingbird Drive, Golden, Missouri for those who want to follow GPS. We are in Emerald Beach if that helps.

Rock Party 2014 Coming up Soon!

Just wanted to add another note about our upcoming Rock Party for 2014. We are busy getting all fun stuff together for our Hillbillie Rock Painting Get Together! June 13 - 14, 2014. It is coming up fast! We do not have any idea how many rock painters we will have. Unfortunately, some rock painters from previous years cannot come but we would like to have an

idea for sure who might be coming!

We will probably have 2 projects to work on as well as any projects that someone might have, especially after 'picking rocks' on Friday at the Little Buffalo. We will try to gather enough rocks so that those who cannot go 'picking' might still have a few rocks to paint on!

Don't forget to bring pictures of your rocks or rocks you have to 'show off' to all. We love new ideas and inspiration!

The fee is still $10 each rock painter and for those who want to 'tag along' for the fun of it, only $5. We will have goodie bags for the painters. Hopefully, everyone will bring a finger food snack to share and maybe a bottle of water or two for all to nibble on while we paint! And, don't forget, T.Joe and son, son-in-law, or friend(s) will grill hamburgers and hot dogs for lunch on Saturday!

I'm hoping that our weather will cooperate and give us a nice sunny, but not too hot weekend to gather! We are planning to have an extension to the front of the shop in case we have an overflow of rock painters so no one will have to be 'out in the sun or weather' while we all paint!

Quilting

Well....I started out with the 2014 Rock Party but did not mention WHEN?  June 13 - 14, 2014 at Dees' Dream in Golden, Missouri.  The agenda is pretty much the same as years before.  Friday morning, we will meet Lin Wellford in Green Forest and follow her to Jasper to 'pick' rocks for an hour or two, depending on the weather, and then go to the Jasper Ozark Cafe for a light lunch and then back to Dees' Dream to start painting on our new found rocks!  We will paint, nibble on finger foods that everyone brings to share, and come back on Saturday to paint and visit and nibble again.  T.Joe, with help from son, son-in-law, or friends, grill dogs and burgers on the grill for lunch and we will visit and paint some more! 

If you will click on labels, you will find places to stay in Golden, Eagle Rock, Eureka Springs, Branson, etc.  Of course, I don't have all the options listed, but Google will have them. 

Be sure to bring pictures of your painted rocks, or if you still have the rocks, bring them to show.  We all enjoy new ideas and inspiration!  Lin Wellford will be bringing a new project for us all to participate in.

We are hoping for nice weather but we will do our best to have it comfortable in the 'studio'.  We have an extension to add to the front of the shop if we need more table space for new painters!

 Here it is again....time to get ready for another Rock Party at Dees' Dream in Golden, Missouri.  This will be our 15th year to have our Dees' Dream Rock Painting Party!  Amazing that we had done this for 15 years!  We have had so many friends come thru the years and are making new friends each year.  We started out with only 12 rock painters (including Lin Wellford and me) and we have had as many as 40 + (counting kids) come and paint rocks with us.  We also have tag alongs who come just to be here to enjoy the fellowship!

Join us again in Golden Missouri Friday to follow Lin Wellford to Jasper to 'pick rocks' and then to enjoy a delicious lunch at the Jasper Cafe on the square and then back to Dees' Dream to paint rocks and visit and nibble on finger foods Hawaiian style!  We ask everyone to bring something to share while we visit and paint!

Saturday, we will paint and visit and enjoy burgers and dogs grilled by Thomas Joseph Dees and John Dees.

Rock Painting Party 2012

It's almost Rock Pickin' AND Rock Painting Together Time!

The dates are June 8th and 9th....Friday and Saturday,, 2012, Dees' Dream, Golden Missouri.  We are working day and night trying to get everything ready!  T.Joe has worked for almost a week designing and constructing a nice 'New York Boardwalk to walk between the 'Studio' and the house.  I will post a picture as soon as I get this note written. 

 It is WONDERFUL that I am retired as well as T.Joe this year....and am having fun getting all the goodies together!  We are expecting lots of new rock painters this year...plus those who have been here many times!  We are sad to say some of those who have been with us for several years will not attend this year.  

This year's theme is 'Creativity Rocks....Pass It On!"  So, we are striving to do just that....Pass It On!  Hoping to see you soon!  Rockin' On!

Rock party 2012

Just wanted to update on the 2012 Rock party news. Nothing new other than we did get some new Patio Paints today along with more new brushes. Still working on 2012 patches to go in the goodie bags and more goodies to share. We keep handing out more Rock Party cards to share with anyone to help remind them of the upcoming dates and the invite to join us. We are looking forward to visiting with friends returning and new friends who will join us for their first time painting rocks.

Another place to stay in Golden for Rock party 2012

This nice rental house is very roomy for anyone who would like to stay in Golden for the weekend Rock Party 2012. This belongs to one of our local rock painters and her husband who built our decks and shop (studio) When I talked to her a week or so ago, they did not have anyone signed up for the month of June. This is about 1 1/2 to 2 miles from Dees' Dream!
