Christmas 2009

We had a white Christmas this year so we did not get to celebrate with our families like we usually do Christmas morning. Then, my camera was not ready and I only got ONE picture of the grandkids opening their gifts we took them on the day after Christmas. Rae and Melia actually let me make their picture. I guess teen age girls don't like their picture made but I got lucky this
time.

Pam and Vernon came up and spent the afternoon with us after all of their kids were scattered.
We spent New Year's Eve with Jim and Martha before heading on down south to visit with family.

While the guys watched football, the women stayed in the kitchen making goodies.

I just wanted to share a new picture that was sent to me of a t-shirt quilt that I made for Greg for his Christmas from his mom and dad. His mom sent me the t-shirts and of course, he knew nothing about it. He is displaying it after opening it Christmas.

I also made his brother a t-shirt quilt and his brother's wife a wedding quilt of their wedding. They can all stay warm this winter!

We delivered 5 quilts to Mississippi this past New Year's weekend and also visited with our families while we were there. My dad had his 90th birthday party when we celebrated Christmas with all of our families, too.
This is a muumuu throw that I made from the scraps of the 4 muumuu quilts that I made. I have enough to make 3 more throws.

This Queen sized quilt on the left is made from quilt blocks that my friend's mother made and had packed away. After her mother passed, she found them and asked me to put them together and quilt them for her son and daughter. I had enough blocks left to make her a throw to remember her mother by.

These are 2 of the quilts we delivered to Mississippi this past weekend.

My mom and dad are surrounded here by my sisters and brother and me with almost all of their grandchildren and great grandchildren in their front yard. The weather cooperated and was nice enough for the kids to climb the trees.
