I think I need to post a larger photo of the maps...the ones that I have on here are tiny when printed. But, I made the maps larger and they still print out small.

Rock Party 2010 - June 18 and 19, 2010

Almost time for the Rock Party 2010! T.Joe and I are busy cleaning out the shop (studio) so we can set up tables and chairs for rock painting...and I am trying to clean up the messy house so that we won't be embarrassed for those who need to visit the conveniences inside. MK, CK, and AK, and maybe JK are coming especially to be here for the Rock Party this year. This is the 11th year that we have had a Rock party and they have not been until this year,...they have been traveling all over the world with their assignments. YEA...they are stationed in Texas now, so it is possible for them to travel to the Ozarks this year! SC, MC, and RH are supposed to be here, too. JD, AD, and EMD are supposed to come and help with the grilling of burgers and dogs for lunch on Saturday. We are expecting lots of rock painters on Saturday as well as rock pickers to caravan with us to Jasper to pick rocks and have lunch at the cute little cafe in Jasper before returning to Dees' Dream for rockpainting! If you are interested, come and join us...just follow the labels here and see all the details for our Rock Party! Lin Wellford will be here for sure! Hope to see you soon!

Rock Party 2010 Update

I really need to post a map here since the Geocities sites are no longer available. Don't want anyone to miss our Get Together because they could not find us.

These are the latest quilts that I have finished. The blue one is a Care Bear Quilt that my mom pieced from a remnant and added triangles and strips and squares and I quilted it for her. The orange blocks on the next quilt is a picture quilt.

I'm working on 2 more t-shirt quilts now. One is ready for quilting and I still have to put the 2nd one together.

Rock Painting Party 2010

The Annual Rock Painter's Get Together (Rock Party) for 2010 will be June 18 and 19 in Golden Missouri! Make plans! Go to my earliest posts to see all the details (August 29th, 2009)! It will give you resorts and campgrounds, etc. and details about what we will do in the 2 days that we are together painting rocks and finding rocks! You can also click on Labels...Rock Party and it will take you to the post that tells all about this get together!

Paint some rocks....and bring some to show...or bring pictures of rocks you have painted....or just come and paint some ... YOU can do it! You have to start some time! There will be PLENTY of help! AND NO....we will not laugh at your first try! Bring some snacks and beverages to share so we can nibble while we paint. T.Joe and John will grill some burgers and dogs on Saturday while we are painting! Lots of fun...laughter, painting, sharing, etc. to be had! See you then???

I think I need to post some more quilts that I have finished. We delivered 5 quilts to Mississippi New Year's weekend when we went to visit our families.

This is another photo quilt that I put together for a friend for her mom.

The quilt on the right is one I put together for my friend. She had found 60 quilt blocks that her mom had put away and asked me to make her son and daughter a quilt and a throw for herself.
This quilt on the left is another muumuu throw that I put together from muumuus that my sister-in-law had saved from her mom's wardrobe many years ago.
When we came back home from our visit in Mississippi, I came back with orders for 6 more quilts.....3 more muumuu throws, 2 t-shirt quilts and another quilt from blocks from a friend's mom.

T.Joe asked me why I did not have a photo of his sunflowers that he made...one of his first welding art projects. Well...I have a picture of him putting it together, but not one of his final piece. I will find it and put it here for you to see.

He is displaying the sunflowers in front of the recipient's parking place on her birthday so when she drives up to work, she will see her birthday gift!

Christmas 2009

We had a white Christmas this year so we did not get to celebrate with our families like we usually do Christmas morning. Then, my camera was not ready and I only got ONE picture of the grandkids opening their gifts we took them on the day after Christmas. Rae and Melia actually let me make their picture. I guess teen age girls don't like their picture made but I got lucky this
time.

Pam and Vernon came up and spent the afternoon with us after all of their kids were scattered.
We spent New Year's Eve with Jim and Martha before heading on down south to visit with family.

While the guys watched football, the women stayed in the kitchen making goodies.

I just wanted to share a new picture that was sent to me of a t-shirt quilt that I made for Greg for his Christmas from his mom and dad. His mom sent me the t-shirts and of course, he knew nothing about it. He is displaying it after opening it Christmas.

I also made his brother a t-shirt quilt and his brother's wife a wedding quilt of their wedding. They can all stay warm this winter!

We delivered 5 quilts to Mississippi this past New Year's weekend and also visited with our families while we were there. My dad had his 90th birthday party when we celebrated Christmas with all of our families, too.
This is a muumuu throw that I made from the scraps of the 4 muumuu quilts that I made. I have enough to make 3 more throws.

This Queen sized quilt on the left is made from quilt blocks that my friend's mother made and had packed away. After her mother passed, she found them and asked me to put them together and quilt them for her son and daughter. I had enough blocks left to make her a throw to remember her mother by.

These are 2 of the quilts we delivered to Mississippi this past weekend.

My mom and dad are surrounded here by my sisters and brother and me with almost all of their grandchildren and great grandchildren in their front yard. The weather cooperated and was nice enough for the kids to climb the trees.
